Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review

Even as greatest hits packages go, this is an utter gem. Every song is inspired, in a class of its own, whether the proper version of "I Shot the Sheriff", the hymnlike "No Woman, No Cry" or the sheer joy of "Jamming". Even allowing that Marley never wrote any bad material, Legend is still the crème de la crème, the heart and soul of the Jamaican people packed into one five-inch compact disc. He was unique, and the message of this record, more than any other, is that he died far too soon. --Chris Nickson

One of the best albums in the world

Rating

This album is beautiful. Obviously Bob Marley is a true legend of Reggae music, and this album shows you why. It's a truely beautiful record. Simply press play and relax, every track in this album is beautiful so great and there really is no need to skip tracks. Simply brilliant, I don't know why I didn't by this album earlier. Truely beautiful and if you listen to the lyrics truely inspirational. What a legend.

the best

I've own just a few cds of Bob Marley, and I love this one. It's number one. I think is worth this money and mayby even more, only great songs, probably you will have problem to skip any one. Of course there are some favourities, like "no woman no cry", "buffalo soldier", "could you be love" and more, what make whole cd. If you are looking for one cd and ultimate take this one, another cd "legend" it's a few levels worse. Quality of sound (this cd) beat other ones easily. I start love reagge after my holiday in caribbean, Bob is best and never boring, at home, in car, at work etc.

Legend, Bob Marley (Island Remaster, bonus tracks) - Every little thing's all right...

Rating

There's not a lot to say about the music on this album. It collects together the cream of the recordings made by the greatest reggae act of all time, Bob Marley and the Wailers. Any album with 'Redemption Song', Three Little Birds', 'Who Shot The Sherriff' and 'No Woman, No Cry' is, it goes without saying, one that any lover of good music will want to own.

This re-release of a classic album has been well done. There are now two extra tracks ('Easy Skanking' and 'Punky Reggae Party'), which really add to the album, and the whole set has been nicely remastered to give a nice clear sound, with Marley's great vocals brought nicely to the fore. A big improvement on the original, slightly murky, CD release. The liner notes contain an nice, if slightly rambling, essay on Marley's career.

A worthy re-release of a classic album.
