This musical adventurer will jump on any type of groove, from country & western to ragtime, even gospel, as in the rousing lead track, "Gospel Time," complete with huge choral backing and admonitions like "shake that booty Jesus gave you!" He's also about forging links to stateside cousins, as in the remix of "Tell Me," featuring New York City radio jock-rapper Angie Martinez. But dancehall reggae's amazingly prolific king knows he has to bring it all back to reggae dancehall, by sticking to clever patwah lyrics and the sublime "one-drop riddim" pattern that distinguishes reggae from everything else. Beenie's breakout "Who Am I?" was the only reggae track to enter Billboard's '98 R&B and pop charts, and this imaginatively conceived set of hardcore dancehall tunes is packed with plenty more international pop possibilities. --Elena Oumano

Bad Man Nuh Flee --Tight
4 me the album track is 06 === Bad Man Nuh Flee === Track is tight nuff I still blaze it more dun 6 times a day. No hiphop, no rnb, pure dancehall == if u like it original. The rest of the tracks well...buy it.
fluff
The only good song is World Gone Mad, but maybe worth the price of the cd if you can get it used or on major sale because its so good. The rest of that r&b/hiphop/reggae/gospel curry just doesnt mesh into anything good.
De Bomb Artis
I was first introduced to Beenie Man through purchasing his CD "Blessed" in 1996 in a small tourist shop in Mo' Bay. I though he was an awsome change to American rappers. I though his reggae-hiphop style could be a huge hit in the US so I started giving copies to my friends. I still don't think he has got the attention he deserves reason being, here in Texas his CD's are very hard to get hold of and most people never even heard of him, although he did get an article about him in Newsweek Magazine. Hey it's a start but about the Doctor, I think this CD is close to perfect like his attempt to steer away from hiphop and use negro spiritials in "Gospel Time" the R&B vocals of Jon B in Pride & Joy the dancehall vibes of One More Time and his attempt to use New York Rapper Angie Martinez in the awsome Tell me remix. Overall Beenie Man uses a wide variety of cultures in his CD which all work out good. Only few of the song are a disapointment such as "Bad Man Nuh Flee".But I suggest getting this one, you don't know what your missing if you have not heard Beenie Man. PS. call me weird but I think Beenie Man and Lauryn Hill could do an awsome duet ( but I only say that 'cause their my 2 favorite artists).
Dr. Beenie let it all go for this one............Blazing!
This new one form beenie man is good....hot I should say. It is a lil bit better than his last one.."Many moods"..and that one was good. All the songs are upbeat but have a new sound. Beenie took it to another level with this because he mixed in different kinds of music and made it work. Gospel(praise him), R+B(Pride and Joy), Hip/hop(Tell me (remix))...is some of the best cuts here and show how beenie can just flow from one style to another. Some songs here u might have heard already...but overall it's all brand new and if u don't know anything about reggae u should get this. This cd could get played at a party and just let it run all night...It's that good! I see why they call this cd the doctor...because beenie been in the reggae game from since he was 16 ...so now it's like he is a professional in reggae....like he has a doctorate...from going up against so many other Mc's. Only some like Buju, and Bounty can stand up to beenie or even shine over him....but with this cd you can't go wrong.
U disagree? ...or not sure? .......listen and then let me know. U will like at least 3 songs here if not 1.
Get it!
hot and great
it was a great album fro benni and it is what we have come to expect from him he is one of the top dancehall singer in history
