Phones
They were nice phones but the volume would not turn up high i would not buy these phones but usually Panasonic has good products !
Great Cordless Phone
We bought these to replace a 3-4 year old VTech dual set that had dead spots in our house and to add a unit. The Panasonic with Dect 6.0 solved the dead zone issue and seems to have great range inside and outside. In the deal, we also got: (1) better sound quality, (2) a lighter phone, (3) bigger buttons, (4) an decent sounding speaker phone, (5) erasing missed calls on one unit does it on all three, (6) longer battery life. Only negatives going thru more menus to erase (but that is more than offset by #5) and we didn't like the wall mount. Since we have voicemail I haven't used the answering machine, but am considering going to that for ease of use and ability to hear message being left and interrupt if desired. We are very pleased with this phone system.
I should have bought the Panasonic 6.0 9334 Series
The 1033 series is still a great phone, but for a few dollars more, the 9334 series is far better. My neighbor has the 9334 series and when I bougth the 1033 phones, I did not realize my error - I wanted the same phone set she has. However, the 1033 is still an excellent choice, but spend the extra $10 - $20 and get the 9334 phones.
You do not get automatic copying from one phone to the others, call blocking, nor night-time mode.
Great cordless phone all around!
Good audio quality, good build quality, great reception, easy to use, good battery life, good range. Compared to the three cordless GE phones I've owned that all broke within 2 years (Best Buy's service plan was definitely a good investment there...), this seems like a very good deal indeed.
Lots of static and interference
I know that some people have reported no interference at all, but we had a terrible time with it. It didn't even matter if we were talking to someone else, just between the handsets, 20 feet apart, was ridiculously bad. Static, popping sounds, and dropped audio. It got better as we both moved closer to the base station, but we seriously had to be less than 10 feet away for it to sound good.
The phones seem great otherwise and lots of other people have had a good experience. I hope yours is better.
We live in a big condo complex and our neighbors probably all have cordless phones, wifi routers, and a dozen other wireless devices. So I'm sure this is a challenging environment. Still, Dect 6.0 technology was supposed to be great, but in our case it wasn't.
Besides, our $30 American Telecom cordless phones we were replacing had no problems at all with interference.
A tiny bit of interference is maybe forgivable, but there's no reason it should sound terrible when that happens. A good digital device shouldn't ever make popping and clicking sounds that hurt your ears.
