sad to say, I was misled by all the 5 star reviews and bought this cd. I was expecting something extraordinary. this is not it. i am a true reggae believer and my ears are always wide open for something new. this aint it. its soft and boring. hate being negative about postivie music, but this album just doesn't add up.

a good album from jah cure

Rating

i like this album. it is different in the sense of jah cure being so young yet very talented. he is a rougher version of gregory issac. beres hammond's production touch on the album is nocticeable and welcome. some heavy rasta messages are here. j.cure also sings of love, inlight of the situation he currently faces. i definitely like: zion await, every song i sing, western region(brothers, stop killing each other!!!)., and vibes man a build.

...WAKE UP!!! FREE JAH CURE!!!

Rating

when i first heard , "Free Jah's Cure" i was totally blown away.
a modern rasta album in which every song is a real gem.
his voice reflects inspirations from Yami Bolo and Beres Hammond.
when i heard his latest release, "Ghetto Life," the first thing i noticed was the production...Lord have Mercy! the bass is so deep and the kick drum hits so freakin' hard!!! the song selection for this album is slightly different in style compared to the first one. i was already familiar with the track that includes Sizzla, but when i heard "Western Region," i thought
he might have run out of ideas due to the fact that i heard a reworking of a previous melody. after listening a few times, all the tracks really started to grow on me. i enjoy this one almost as much as his debut album...
his music is so beautiful, i have a hard time believing he is guilty.

Great Album

Rating

Jah Cure has done in again! This is indeed a great work of reggae vibe. You can tell that he had some assistance from two of the baddest reggae artist around (Sizzla and Beres Hammond) to make this album. This one is just as good as the first. Go get it!

WHAT CAN I SAY?

Rating

I've always likened Jah Cure to a singing version of reggae great Sizzla Kalonji. They both just seem to be on the same level of consciousness lyrically and the way they seem to be easily able to get their message across. Speaking of Sizzla, I find it very interesting that the first voice that you hear on this album is that of Sizzla, on the opener and possible best track Every Song I Sing, very very good on the lyrics. If Every Song i Sing is not the best tune here then certainly Hail to My King is, that is a song that everyone, every religion from Rastafarian to Atheists can appreciate, really powerful. All 15 tracks, not a bad tune amongst them, also really love the combinations one with the aforementioned high priest Sizzla Kalonji on the older King of the Jungle, if you've never heard it, then you'll probably love it, and if you have heard then you'll relish in having it on cd (that is if you neglected to get Sizzla's Greatest Hits Album last year), with Jah Cure providing the amazing vocals and Sizzla stepping in with the very meaningful verses. Also really lie Zion Way, Zion Await, How Can and Trust Me and also Vibes Man a Build, and Hanging Slowly, and i could go on, every track is nearly perfect in its sound and of course, its lyrical point.
Jah Cure is an album artist, only having 2 albums so far i know that may sound weird, but i have never had the experience of seeing him perform, i can only imagine, but his voice is soooooooo powerful on this album and his first that I am convinced that he can do what he has done so far in his career which is releasing albums every 2-3 years, and that works. His first album was critically acclaimed as this one is destined to be, he sounds excellent on album, and his writing prowess ranks right up there with lyric king Sizzla, he is truly on that level. As he is currently serving a long term prison sentence, a young singer might be wise to hire him as a songwriter because i assure you it gets no better than this in lyrics. AMAZING! GO GET IT
