Plug in Presto?s PopLite and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you?ll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That?s not to say you can?t add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn?t fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Presto?s Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. Great Product

A little background on my airpop popcorn popper past: I was raised on air popped popcorn, with a little melted butter ( or butter spray) and salt, its the perfect snack. My mother had an old, dingy looking popper, but it always delivered, so I assumed all poppers performed this way. However, when I moved into my own apt, I was forced to purchase my own popper, I found one at Target, and it was just ok, but I would have to tilt it back to keep all the kernels from flying out of the popper before they were popped. However, that popper stopped working a few months ago and one night during a popcorn craving I ran up to Walgreen's and purchased a Home Remedy popper for $10. What a mistake! The thing would either spurt all the kernels out unpopped or it would get the popped popcorn stuck inside it and it would literally catch on fire!

Finally, after listening to my complaining about the horrible popper for months my partner get me the Poplite for Christmas. It has been wonderful. Without any tilting or careful watching it consistently delivers. When it is done popping only a few unpopped kernels are at the bottom of the bowl. This is so refreshing after having 2 poppers that left half the kernels unpopped in the bowl. I absolutely love this machine. It does exactly what it is suppose to do without a bunch of fuss, hassle, popcorn flying all over my kitchen, or fires to put out.

The only draw back to this machine is it doesn't have an on/off switch on the side. So when it needs to be turned off ( right before the last kernels are about to pop) you have to remember to unplug it. I still gave it 5 stars though because this minor inconvenience is far out weighed by the superior performance of the popcorn popper. I would highly recommend this product for any looking for a great hot air corn popper.

Great Buy!

Works like a charm! A few pieces of the popcorn come out a tiny bit chewy, but definitely a fair exchange for how healthy air popping is compared to swimming in oil. It does come out dry, so you have to lightly spray it with butter, olive oil or Pam to get salt to stick. Follow the instructions for the amount of kernels to use, and understand that it is designed to blow out the finished product (so a few hot unpopped kernels will come out). Anyone that has a problem with how this unit operates is fishing for something to complain about. This is a great buy!

It's Absolutely Amazing!!!

Bought this popper a week ago and i'm pleased to say that it works great, and it's a great deal. I originally bought this at a wal-mart for $15, which i thought was a hell of a deal, and i had no idea that there are poppers with the same price that won't efficiently work but this one worked. Then afterwards i read reviews and i was amazed even more because it was truly a deal! The con: No on/off switch, not that it maters. In any case it pops 98% of kernels, which is way more than microwave popcorn and it's healthier, i simply love it. To add, you're saving money because if you're a popcorn-freak, within a few batches that 15 dollars will be way worth it.
And if you don't get the taste you want, you can get some calorie-free oil spray and mix it with salt at the same time and make the salt (or whatever) stick.

Great purchase

This product is great. I've used it lots since I've got it and each time it makes great popcorn with very few unpopped kernals left over. I recommend to use white popping corn, as it makes a lighter and fluffier popcorn than yellow popping corn. I've had some issues with popped popcorn and some unpopped kernals flying out of the shoot when the machine is on. So be careful of that. Kernals come out quite hot!

All in all, a great machine for the $$.
