A Good Book

The book I read was Tex written by S.E. Hinton. This was a realistic fiction book.

This book was written about a boy, named Tex, that loved and cared for horses but comes home one day to find that his older brother, Mace, is home early from school and the horses are gone! After mace and Tex have a fight, Tex declares that he is going out to find his horse companion, Negreto, and won't come home until he finds him. His father is off riding in rodeos on the west coast, but all Tex wants now is his companion back.

While driving back to their farm, Tex picks up a hitch-hiker and gets himself and his brother in danger by doing it. Tex didn't know that the hitch-hiker had a gun until he pulled it on them and told them to go to the state line.
You will have to read this book yourself to find out the ending, it's good! This book is best suited for 8th graders and high school students rather than 5th and 6th graders. I liked this book anyway even though it was meant for teens!!!

i think its another S.E. hinton masterpeace

i think Tex is another masterpeace from the coolest best writer around! if you love SE hintons books you will love this. any teen needs this book added to there "libary"!!! i really enjoyed reading this book and when i finshed it i was crying! i love this book!

The Story of Tex

Tex is a character you can' help but like. He can't seem to escape trouble and is satisfied with the simple life he has. He lives alone with his older brother Mason and when things begin to fall apart he does his best to pull it together. This action packed story is based on friendship, perseverance, and realizing who really cares about you.
As an easygoing, troublemaking 15 year old Tex sees no fault to his life until his brother sells his horse and arguably best friend Negrito. He can't seem to forgive the brother he has trusted for so long. Money was tight as these two youngsters are forced to rely on each other in ways they may have never thought. Things are magnified with a girl on his mind especially since she is Johnny Collin's sister, Tex's best friend. The plot thickens from here as Tex gets into situations that make you want to read on. During these rough times his dysfunctional father finally returns, a person that Tex longs attention and love from.
This was a good book from beginning to end but one of my favorite parts was when Tex jumped Johnny's bike over the creek in front of a bunch of guys. Johnny had crashed just before take off because he tried to stop. Tex uses the excuse that he hit a bump and jumps the creek. He proves to everyone that his bike could take the coveted jump but crashes on the landing. When the quality of bike is everything that's one of the best things you can do for a friend. This patches there rocky relationship and shows Tex's caring and good hearted demeanor.
A good book carries a good lesson and in "Tex" lessons of life's hard times and knowing who to trust is seen throughout. He tried not to let the rough times drag him down as he stayed brave. You must trust the ones that are there for you. You can't make someone be the person you want them to be like Tex's father.
This was a very good book that always kept me interested. The very believable events made me not want to stop reading and the full characters just added to the plot. It was an in-depth story and I loved the way it was written. Tex seemed real and his life was one that compelled many messages.

Do you like adventure, action, and suspense? Well, then this is the book for you. TEX is about a cowboy named Tex and he is very calm, kind, and liked by the ladies. One day his brother Mason sells Tex's one and only horse Negrito for money to pay the bills because they're broke. Tex's father is gone on the rodeo season and should have been back by now. Tex is so mad he starts throwing things all around. Mason charges at him, tackles him and they were rolling on the ground for a while. Of course Tex is quite a bit younger so he came out with a messed up face. Will Tex get his horse Negrito back? Can he save his family from falling apart? I had Read S.E.Hintons other books and wanted to read this one, it is well recomended it is a great book so good the i could not put it down, it is a good story about brotherly love, friendship and growing up.
