Usain Bolt is now officially a track and field legend after winning his third gold medal in the 4x100m relay in record time on Friday's eight day of competition of the 29th Olympiad in the 91,000 capacity Bird's Nest Stadium.

Mavado firmly solidified his claim to one of the top dancehall reggae entertainers after a brilliant performance at Reggae Sumfest 2008, Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre, in Montego Bay. Mavado eclipsed the Warlord, Bounty Killer, who on Thursday night was arrested after a tirade of profanities.

It appears Moses "Beenie Man" Davis and Michelle "D'Angel" Downer are reconciling their differences and all indications appear that the former Jamaica power couple are being civil once more. Beenie Man has definitely been seeing their baby, Marco Dean very frequently as well. Beenie and D'Angel have also been spotted at Weddy Weddy.

Beenie Man has lashed out at Junior Gong and Stephen Marley in an interview with Chris Goldfinger of BBC Radio. The feud according to Beenie Man kicked off at a concert in The Bahamas in April of 2008 in which the performance of Beenie Man was cut short due to time restrictions.

Word from Jamaica is that all charges against Mavado, aka David Brooks have been dropped by Jamaica's Director Of Public Prosecutions. Mavado was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and two counts of shooting with intent related to a shooting incident on July 27, 2007 at Mannings Hill Road in St. Andrew. Mavado was arrested in March of 2008.

Usain Bolt, in an event not considered his best, has broken the 100m record at 9.72 seconds. The previous record was 9.74 seconds held by fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell. Bolt broke the record at the Reebok Grand Prix in New York. Bolt is now the world's fastest man.

In Buju Banton's latest Gargamel Gleaner, the popular dancehall artiste is pleading with fellow dancehall entertainers to clean up their lyrics in order to stem the social decay that is not only present in Jamaica but most of the Caribbean countries where the music is very popular. Lyrical content in dancehall music has been a hot topic in the Caribbean lately.

Dancehall reggae superstar Beenie Man is claiming that he has not seen his son Marco Dean for over 8 months. D'Angel, Beenie Man's estranged wife has claimed Beenie Man has "made no attempt to call to enquire about the welfare of his son". We present another chapter in the Beenie-D'Angel saga.

News out of Jamaica is that the Jamaican Police have banned the proposed street dances in Majesty "Back To" Gardens named after popular entertainers Bounty Killer and Beenie Man because it "is going to cause conflict and we have to step on conflict because conflict leads to crime." For now no more Bounty Sundays, and Beenie Tuesdays will never start.

Rumors are swirling in Jamaica and abroad that reggae superstar Junior "One Blood" Reid and hip hop artist Eve are romantically involved. Junior Reid would like to rubbish that rumor immediately stating that, "It's strictly professional. Eve was down here for the Christmas and we were rolling together as friends."
