Diamond shopping should bring joy to the life of loved ones. This is true except in the case of Spence Diamonds, Scarborough Town Centre location, that brought nothing but grief to our loved ones. Note to any potential Spence Diamonds customer, when buying an engagement ring. If you receive the prototype and pay your deposit and your fiancee is sentemental and wants to keep the ring here is what you do. Keep the ring and tell them you lost it.

Honesty, does not appear to be rewarded at Spence Diamonds. This is from the President Sean Jones, right back down to store staff. Sean Jones, by the way does not return calls or emails. Preferred method of contact involves sending his humble minions to do his dirty work.

Case in point, customer purchases a quite expensive multi diamond engagement ring, including the prototype, for which a deposit was paid. The customer calls into the Spence Diamonds location approximately one week prior to picking up the real engagement ring, to enquire about the possibility of keeping the prototype. Spence Diamonds representative responds in the affirmative, that it can be done. The customer is now happy and passes on the good news to their fiancee.

On the day of pickup, the customer and their happy fiancee go into the Spence Diamonds store at Scarborough Town Centre, only to be greeted by a rude sales associate who proceeds to confiscate the prototype while saying that keeping the prototype is not an option.

After proceeding to contact the President, Mr. Sean Jones directly, the customer also contacted the Store Manager as well as the Director Of Stores for the Toronto region. The Director Of Stores, was the only helpful party at Spence Diamonds. The director attempted in earnest to sort out the matter, and genuinely appeared to both understand the situation and also be sympathetic to the emotions of the customer's fiancee.

Unfortunately for the customer, the director was not able to get the verbal agreement between the Spence Associate and a customer finalized. As per the director, "a jewelry business’ credibility is essential to its success. At Spence we pride ourselves in delivering a quality product with great value and excellent service….we cannot jeopardize our standards." Yeah right!

So to any potential customer of Spence Diamonds, please note the above, that Spence Diamonds regards the credibility of it's business over the satisfaction of their customers. In addition, excellent service is not granted, and hopefully future customer will realize this before venturing into any of their establishments. It is clear that Spence Diamonds places no value on customer loyalty or honesty.

In this case, when a customer was honest they were slapped on their wrist over a $200 prototype. So in summary, if your fiancee wants to keep the prototype then lie, and tell the store you misplaced it. But if you do not like to lie, then do not go to Spence Diamonds.
