World Clash 2004 - New York - October 9 2004

Round 1 (10 Minutes)

Young Hawk started it off and opened up the clash very nicely. They got good forwards from Sizzla' "Rise To The Occasion," as well as I-Wayne, Bascom-X, and other culture dubs. They got huge forwards from Bushman's "Fire Bun A Weak Heart" as well as other dubs on the Hypocrites riddim. VERY nice round.

One Love came in with their theme from the Godfather and got a nice applause. The Italians were there to represent. They got a huge forward off of Sizzla dubs on the "Natural Mystic" (Bob Marley) riddim. They also played Chuck Fenda's "Worry Unuself" and made the place get mad with other Fenda and Richie Spice, as well. They destroyed the place with Richie Spice's "The Way You're Living" as well as Jah Cure's "Jah Jah Bless Me." One Love also did very well in the first round.

Danger and LP Intl. played next, greeting NY people, making speech about Brooklyn, Biltmore, and how no NY sound ever won the trophy. They played Cocoa Tea's "Tune In" custom made for World Clash with Bushman in combination. They played come vintage biltmore tunes from Luciano and Pinchers, but did not get too great of a response. They proceeded to run about 4 Bounty Killer dubs on the Duck Riddim, inclding "Dead This Time," and "Smoke The Herb" which each got the biggest forwards for the entire night. They played some dubs on the Hot Wax riddim from Buju, Cobra, and continued to mash up the later part of their round. Danger then made a speech to Trooper about Jaro, and played "Go Down" by Garnett Silk. LP Intl destroyed their first round, as well.

Trooper came in, and told the people he was taking it easy, it was first round. Trooper seemed to not want to run after LP, One Love, and Young Hawk, so he cruised. He played some dubs for 2 and 3 minutes, and had no entertainment value at all. He did play a new Daville that was custom built, which got him some huge forwards, but other than that, his first round was very boring.

Klassique came in with some classic selection on the Stalag riddim from Sugar Minott, Michael Buckley, and others. They got no forwards for those dubs, nor Mighty Diamonds "I Need a Roof." It was a toss up for who played the worst for the first round, between Klassique and Trooper.

Panther came in with Black Kat and got some nice forwards for Ras Shiloh's "Unto Zion," as well as Jah Mason's "Soundboy Gone," which got a huge forward. Panther then proceeded to play some selection on Trooper's "Love Is Not A Gamble" (My Woman) riddim. Panther did alright, not as good as LP, One Love, and Young Hawk.

After the round, it was decided that LP Intl. won the 1st Round.
