The body of an unidentified Indo-Trinidadian man was found in a dirt track off Cameron Road, Diego Martin, yesterday morning.
Up to late yesterday police were trying to determine the man?s identity and are calling on the public to help.

The body bore several chop wounds to the head, is about five feet eight inches and of stocky build.

A tipoff from an anonymous caller led police to the body.

Its discovery followed what has been described as a night of mayhem in Diego Martin.

Police are also investigating a drive-by shooting and a suicide.

Investigators said that at around 11 pm, 17-year-old Nicholas Selby was liming in front of his house at La Puerta Avenue, when a white B14 Sentra pulled up.

Someone in the vehicle fired several shots, hitting him in the lower abdomen and thigh.

He was taken to Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he is warded in stable condition.

Sgt Stephen Ramsubhag along with PC Phillip Villaruel of the Four Roads Police Station are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.

Villaruel and PC Omard Ali of the Four Roads Police Station are also continuing investigations into a suicide.

At 12.30 am yesterday, Garreth Inniss had an argument with his 67-year-old father, Ricardo Inniss, at their Mary Avenue home.

Twelve hours later the elder Inniss began searching for his son and found the 41-year-old man hanging in his bedroom.

Police said he used a shirt to hang himself.
