Reggae dancehall deejay Mavado will miss his scheduled show in Trinidad tomorrow, which has been rescheduled to April 4th and 5th. This after Mavado was arrested on Wednesday after turning himself in to Jamaica Police. Mavado had to surrender his passport yesterday in Jamaica courts after receiving J$200,000 bail.
Mavado - on gun chargesAccording to Jamaica Star [9], Mavado turned himself over to the Kingston and St Andrew Major Investigation Task Force. He was promptly held and charged in connection with a shooting incident where two people were injured on Mannings Hill Road on July 27, 2007.

Mavado's manager, Julian Jones-Griffith was upbeat and positive about the possibility of Mavado receiving bail at his scheduled appearance in Gun Court yesterday. Jones-Griffith stated, "He was suppose to be going to Trinidad this weekend, but by tomorrow we will know everything that's going on."

In his appearance in court, Mavado was formally charged on two counts of shooting with intent and one count of illegal possession of a firearm. Bail was granted in the amount of J$200,000, but Mavado, real name David Brooks, had to surrender his passport which means no international travel.

As such, Kendell Richards, local promoter for the concert with Lady Saw has had to postpone his concert to April 4 at Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago, and on April 5 in Trinidad at a venue to be decided. Richards, Jones-Griffith as well as Mavado are all hoping that he will be able to travel by then.
