Trinidad and Tobago, the West Indies and even Facebook are in mourning over the untimely death of former Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago Keith Sobion. Sobion died after medical complications to remove a tooth at the University Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica.

Sobion was 56 at the time of his death. Tributes from all sectors of the country and region were being sent to the Sobion family hailing him as a true visionary. The Whitehall in a press release on behalf of Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago said, "Mr Sobion served as attorney general from 1991-1995 and performed with great distinction. His death leaves a great void in the legal fraternity. Mr Sobion has made important contributions to the legal framework of Trinidad and Tobago and to its politics. The nation has lost a great mind, a contributor to our development and a national asset."
Political Leader of the Congress of the People Winston Dookeran said, "His legacy will be remembered by all who genuinely strive for justice in our nation. On a personal basis, Keith Sobion was a gentle and sincere person." In Parliament Colm Imbert was the first to touch on Sobion's death stating, "It was definitely a shock to learn that he had passed away. He was a brilliant lawyer widely respected by his peers in Trinidad and Tobago and the throughout the Caribbean."
On Facebook, anyone who knew Mr. Keith Sobion or anyone of his children have been pouring out their sympathies and condolences in their time of need. As a past lecturer of the Hugh Wooding Law School, Attorney General and finally Principal of the Norman Manley Law School, Sobion touched the lives and legal fraternity not only in Trinidad and Tobago but the entire Caribbean.
