Hey massive
Got to tell ya wha happen last weekend here in Germany.
Though I & I couldn?t manage to get to this event.
Universal 45 Clah in Wuppertal ( West - Germany ) a very small venue
This was a strictly 45 clash no dubs allowed
Supersonic ( A - class sound from Berlin )
Jah sound ( Netherlands ) not very impressive
Dreadbeat ( Foundation sound inna Cologne )
and from Jamaica Freddy Kruger ( Ex- Killamanjaro ) as solo selector
and let mi say though he actually won this clash he is a bad selector
Now I know why Mr. Harper let him go.
Without `his `Dubplates from Killamanjaro the only you hear is a screaming market woman
I`m not exaggerate a lot when saying Freddy is a bombaclaat bad selector
Go home to your nana or ask Mr. Harper how to prepare for a 45 clash !
But he made it to the dub fi dub. What would you expect when it comes to the nitty gritty
Yes, evreybody would expect to hear foundtion tunes ( even inna 45 clash)
no DJ tunes. What did freddy play ? Bounty , Ele, Sizzla, tunes that were
not older than two years.
Supersonic did their best and played really big tunes ( Derrick Morgan, Wailers, Jimmy Cliff ...) instead to blame Freddy?s lack of foundation
I?m very dissapointed about di youth inna crowd. They were not used to
these old songs they dunno respect the dusty blunts Supersonic let out
So di youth rated a new Ele higher than a original from Ken Boothe or Leroy Sibbles.
You should listen to the whole class and let mi now what you think who made the best impressions for a good 45 Clash
If I?ll would get a chance to play against Freddy in a 45 clash
I would kill him... hahaha
So massive listen to this
You can download the whole ting ( mp3 )
www.claat.com ( site in english, you must register fi free )
Universal 45 clash in Wuppertal
Please tell mi your opinion

thanks for the rundown Camphouse, will check out the link for sure. But, concerning Freddy, I used to think he was ok while Trooper was still on Jaro, and also while he was on Super Dee way back with Nuts. However, after Trooper leave and he took the reins of arguably the deepest box in the biz, all he did was scream and shout like a little fassy!
I personally think that he was the worst selector to ever touch Jaro sound. He did nothing for the sound.
The reason why he won seems to be the age of the crowd, and this has happened in NY, Miami, Toronto and even in Jamaica. The new yutes know nothing about foundation and would give a forward to an Ele, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer before a Michael Palmer, Ken Boothe etc.
It is really sad, cause when I was coming up we had a great deal of respect for the foundation. Foundation seems to be a dying breed...unfortunately!
