A cocaine baron, Lincoln White, who ran a $170million international drugs empire was last night facing 25 years behind bars. The 39-year-old used a network of trusted contacts across the Caribbean and the Americas to bring in cocaine paste disguised as shampoo.

He evaded capture for more than three years by living modestly and never resorting to violence.

The Jamaican, who claimed he worked as a barber, was eventually brought to justice when 500 police raided his gang's homes and the South London factory where the paste was turned into crack.

They found 24lb of the drug with a street value of $1million, the largest seizure ever made in Britain.
