The Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner to London, Glenda Morean-Phillip has received death threats from a US-based man over a conviction of one his family members when Morean-Phillip was Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago. It is alleged a group of Jamaicans based in the UK have been dispatched to London to destroy Morean-Phillip.

The number of murders in Trinidad and Tobago reached 395 for 2007, a new record for the twin island republic. The previous high was 386 in 2005. With the PNM government firmly in control after a validating 2007 elections victory, many wonder where the priorities of the government are.

Steve Ferguson and Ishwar Galbaransingh have lost their extradition appeal before the Appeal Court. Galbaransingh and Ferguson have been indicted in the United States on 84 charges of bid-rigging, money laundering, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud and wire fraud, arising from the Piarco Airport development project.

A strong earthquake rocked the Caribbean around 3pm off the coast of Martinique. The earthquake was 7.4 on the Richter Scale and lasted anywhere between 20 seconds and 10 minutes. The earthquake was very deep and therefore did not pose a tsunami risk.

After claims by Superintendent Chandrabhan Maharaj about rampant corruption within the ranks of the police service, he is now opposed to the selection of Assistant Commissioner Glenroy Woodley to lead the investigation. Instead he would prefer if detectives from outside the police service, preferably FBI or Scotland Yard detectives, lead the investigation.

Sean Kingston was roundly booed with very little positive crowd response while performing in his final show in Trinidad and Tobago at Zen nightclub. Kingston who throughly pleased the younger audience in his first show, did not get the same reception from the adult crowd later on. The young artist did not entertain an encore after closing with his smash hit "Beautiful Girls".
