Chris Anthony Joseph, a 24-year-old chemical engineer who just wanted to enjoy a night out at one of Woodbrook's newest liming spots, the Corner Bar, had his life cut short by a lone gunman after midnight yesterday. Corner Bar co-owner Chris Leacock said while he was saddened by the fatal shooting that occurred outside the bar after midnight yesterday, he wants to have it open for business tonight.

Cricketer Dwayne Bravo hosted his birthday bash at Zen Nightclub in Trinidad on Tuesday night to much fanfare. Bravo is expected to make a donation to his favourite charity, St. Michael's Home for Boys. Artistes such as Beenie Man, Ce'cile, Bunji Garlin, Faye Ann Lyons and more performed for the packed audience.

Trinidad and Tobago made amends for a 2-1 defeat to Bermuda in Trinidad last weekend, with a 2-0 victory tonight in Hamilton, Bermuda before a sellout crowd. Bermuda was hoping for an improbable victory against the top rated Caribbean team. The goal scorers on the day were Daryll Roberts who is currently unattached from any club team and English First Division striker Stern John.

RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) has completed its TT$13.7 billion buyout of RBTT (Royal Bank of Trinidad and Tobago) Financial Holdings. A joint RBC/RBTT statement said yesterday RBTT Group CEO Suresh Sookoo and RBC's head of Caribbean banking Ross McDonald will share responsibility for leading a smooth transition as the new banking entity decides how to best use its management.

Two concerts scheduled for May 31 in Trinidad did not materialize. RF Promotions' third attempt to showcase Mavado and Lady Saw as well as VIP Entertainment's Keyshia Cole concert failed with both shows being canceled. Ticket holders have been left in the dark concerning the Keyshia Cole show. Mavado's concert has been rescheduled for July 25.
