News: Zekes to go on trial again

Former Matthews Lane don, Donald 'Zekes' Phipps and his common-law wife, Yvonne Sailsman, will be tried on June 28, for unlawful possession of $18 million. Zekes is also charged with illegal possession of 26 rounds of ammunition and that case has also been set for June 28.

A cross dresser was set upon and severely beaten by a mob at Water Square in Falmouth, Trelawny yesterday morning. Police who were called to the scene had to fire warning shots to disperse the stone-throwing, stick-wielding mob, which succeeded in tearing off the man's black-and-white form-fitting blouse and jet black wig.
