Jagadguru Ram Tripathi Maharaj with a worldwide following of thousands has returned to Trinidad to face the charges of rape and molestation made against him by a 22 year old female Guyanese devotee. His wife and five children also made the trip to Trinidad with him.

In a strange twist of events after five years of public inquiries all 28 charges against the eight persons and three companies implicated in the Piarco Airport corruption scandal have been dropped. Four new charges were laid shortly after. This follows guilty pleas by US citizens involved in the scandal that also implicated Trinidad and Tobago nationals.

The extradition case against JFK terror suspect, Abdul Kareem Ibrahim got more interesting with broad support from a Shia group in Trinidad voicing support to the notion that Ibrahim was setup by the FBI. According to Huda, Ibrahim's daughter, he was framed by using Stevie "Toro" Francis.

Machel Montano and Derek Perreira aka Mr. Slaughter are facing charges after allegedly being involved in an altercation which resulted in San Fernando resident Joel White being stabbed with a broken beer bottle on February 28, 2006, Carnival Tuesday. At the time Slaughter stated the allegations was "a lie".

An unidentified Canadian man has drowned in the pool at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre yesterday. The Canadian was found at the bottom of the pool at approximately 1:30 pm by two other guests at the Hilton. He was of African descent and wore blue shorts.

Media houses in the US, including CNN and MSNBC are reporting that Abdel Nur aka Uncle Abdul has indeed surrendered to police in Trinidad at the West End Police Station in Diamond Vale, Diego Martin today. Details on the surrender are vague at the moment.

As reported earlier, it is now official that Machel Montano, Kernel Robert, Benjai and Zan have been charged for assault in connection with the beating of Russell Pollonais and Brandis Brown at Zen nightclub in Trinidad recently in addition to assaulting Jenelle Le Chee and Gerard Bowrin and using obscene language.
