Trinidadian Kareem Ibrahim, and Guyanese Abdul Kadir and Abdel Nur, were flown by private jet to Miami International Airport en route to JFK Airport, in connection with their alleged roles to bomb JFK International Airport in New York last year. The trio were escorted by approximately 15 FBI and Trinidad law enforcement agents.

RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) has completed its TT$13.7 billion buyout of RBTT (Royal Bank of Trinidad and Tobago) Financial Holdings. A joint RBC/RBTT statement said yesterday RBTT Group CEO Suresh Sookoo and RBC's head of Caribbean banking Ross McDonald will share responsibility for leading a smooth transition as the new banking entity decides how to best use its management.

After the recent stabbing murder of 16 year old Shaquille Roberts, local DJ Kwesi "Hypa Hoppa" Hopkinson has called on his peers in the entertainment industry to take a stand against violent music. Carnival 2008 is over for Trinidad and Tobago. Reviews so far is that this year's shorter Carnival season was overall quite mediocre, with bandleaders complaining of small prize money, Faye-Ann refusing to ever work at the Soca Monarch, but yet handily winning the Road March. Phase II Pan Groove pipped All Stars by one point to claim Panorama champions 2008.

The Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner to London, Glenda Morean-Phillip has received death threats from a US-based man over a conviction of one his family members when Morean-Phillip was Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago. It is alleged a group of Jamaicans based in the UK have been dispatched to London to destroy Morean-Phillip.

The Chaguanas West constituency office of Deputy Political Leader of the UNC Alliance Jack Warner was shot up on Sunday night. Warner who is also Special Advisor to the TTFF and FIFA Vice President and President of CONCACAF is not scared. Jack said he will still persevere in the face of adversity.

Steve Ferguson and Ishwar Galbaransingh have lost their extradition appeal before the Appeal Court. Galbaransingh and Ferguson have been indicted in the United States on 84 charges of bid-rigging, money laundering, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud and wire fraud, arising from the Piarco Airport development project.
