One suspect was shot in the leg during a reported shootout, and a second was found cowering in an abandoned house.

The suspect who urinated on himself was surrounded by more than 50 police officers, tracker dogs, and a helicopter crew.

He was dragged to the police station with an angry mob in pursuit.

The drama played out after a 10.30 a.m robbery at Club Monte Carlo, at Princess Margaret Street, San Fernando.

Five men in two cars were involved in the armed robbery in which an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.

Two men were already speeding south on the Solomon Hochoy Highway when spotted by Highway Patrol officers-PCs Walker and Lancaster-who began the 15-mile chase.

The suspects crashed their Nissan B-14 Sentra after encountering police officers, who took up positions outside the Freeport station. Their path was also blocked by a police vehicle

The getaway car ended up outside the poultry depot of Davanand Boodoo.

He said: "I was playing marbles with my little son when I hear sirens and police coming from all sides. Then just guns. It was like Old Year's night. I take my son and hide behind my car."

One bleeding suspect was found in the car. He was under police guard at hospital last night.

A second man ran but was flushed out by San Fernando CID and Crime Suppression Unit officers including PCs Heeralal, Burton, Deboulet, and Alexander.

Both men are expected to be charged after being questioned and put on identification parades.
