Kuei Tung is one of 17 people who were recently charged with fraud in connection with the Piarco Airport development project.
He is on a total of 16 charges.
It is alleged that Kuei Tung and five other accused conspired to obtain contracts and payments to a total value of up to $144 million out of the $1.6 billion airport contract.
A source yesterday said the State moved to seek the order of restraint to prevent Kuei Tung from disposing of his assets, after he allegedly transferred two Miami properties which he owns to the names of his daughters. They live in the US.
The ex-parte injunction was granted by Justice Mira Dean-Amorer in the High Court yesterday, under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
The state was represented by Douglas Mendes and Michael Quamina.
According to the order, Kuei Tung will be unable to sell or dispose of, in any way, assets ranging from local and foreign property to vehicles.
The properties to which the order applies include a Westmoorings residence as well as a Fairways house shared by Kuei Tung?s former spouse, and two Miami properties which he owns.
Kuei Tung will also be unable to dispose of his four vehicles: a BMW, silver Mercedes Benz E320, a Grand Cherokee recreational vehicle and a sports car.
