The gifted Trinidadian reclaimed his record after Australian Matthew Hayden eclipsed Lara's previous world best with a knock of 380.
Ironically, Lara's stupendous innings came after a string of failures with the bat, including consecutive naughts in the series and was achieved almost 10 years after he set his first world record at the same venue.
Meanwhile, the seven-match One-Day International series between the West Indies and England continues to be dogged by rain as the second, third and fourth games were abandoned after England won the first.
The back-to-back games scheduled for St. Lucia are also under threat because of the weather, and if abandoned it would mean England's 1-0 lead would be enough to ensure that the team could not lose the series.
