Spencer said he was "humbled" by the victory.

He noted the people of Antigua & Barbuda "firmly believed that they wanted a change and it was clearly stated in the results."

Spencer was also full of praise for his colleagues and all the individuals that formed a part of his support and campaign team during Elections 2004.
