The Chaguanas West constituency office of Deputy Political Leader of the UNC Alliance Jack Warner was shot up on Sunday night. Warner who is also Special Advisor to the TTFF and FIFA Vice President and President of CONCACAF is not scared. Jack said he will still persevere in the face of adversity.
According to reports by Trinidad dailies, Trinidad Guardian and Trinidad Express, Warner hosted a Christmas party on Saturday night for staff. On the following morning a spent shell was found inside the office, with a bullet hole visible in the glass.
The police was immediately called once Jack Warner was notified of the situation. The police confirmed the discovery was a spent shell. TTFF Communication Office Sean Fuentes was also threatened recently via a note left in his car after a break in.
The note read, "We are watching you FIFA man." It is not known if the note was directed to Fuentes or indirectly to Jack Warner, who is the FIFA man in Trinidad and Tobago. Fuentes' car was broken into near the Queen's Park Oval and his laptop was stolen. The note was attached to the back of a FIFA fax.
According to Fuentes he is not satisfied with the response from police in this matter. Officers are of the belief that Fuentes was an innocent victim in a spate of car robberies in the area and was not targeted due to his close association with Jack Warner.
Warner is blaming the government for the high spike in criminal activity from before the elections, with a brief halt to vote, and then another jump post elections. The number of murders and unsolved criminal activity in Trinidad is spiraling out of control. Warner said, "This is what the country has reached. Crime is coming nearer and nearer home. That is what the Government has brought to the country and we all will soon be victims."
