Reggae dancehall icon Sizzla aka Miguel Collins delivered a performance at the PNM Beyond Youth Rally in Trinidad yesterday. Even more surprising than Sizzla at a political rally was the fact that Sizzla opened the show shortly after 3pm. Maximus Dan as well Iwer "Boss" George performed at the rally targeting youths.
The Beyond Youth Rally, held at the Queen's Park Savannah in Port Of Spain was whipped into a frenzy, although in the rain by none other than Sizzla. Maybe it was the PNM, or maybe it was Sizzla the crowd were waiting eagerly on. Whatever the case might have been, Sizzla certainly did not disappoint the masses.Meanwhile, Patrick Manning was boasting about the whipping he would put on his political opponents, the UNC Alliance and COP declaring, "In addition to beating the Opposition in the east, west, north and south, the PNM intended to take the two Tobago seats."
Sizzla not known for his political stance was brought in to make a statement to the youths or at least garner their support for the PNM. After Sizzla departed, the action continued with Maximus Dan blazing some of his hits, closely followed by Neil Iwer "Boss" George.
With the rains pouring the PNM anthem for the Election 2007 campaign was held for last as Preacher made his way on stage to the delight of the crowd.
