Faith J. Eselebor, otherwise known as Barbee claims in an interview with the Jamaica Star, that she is not having an affair with Beenie Man. Beenie Man and wife D'Angel are also reported to be having marriage difficulties. Barbee and Beenie Man were apparently a bit too affectionate at Sumfest 2007.
Barbee said, "We were just there enjoying Beres' performance and we met with Mary J. Blige. It was just mixing and mingling. Plus, he danced with about two other girls." This was her reply to the controversial pictures shown here with her and Beenie Man hugging on multiple occasions.
"The funny thing is that I had no clue as to what was going on with their relationship. I can't believe I came to do Sumfest and all this happened to me. But it was my first experience (at Sumfest) and I hope there will be others, only more positive," Barbee said. This after she was told that Beenie Man and D'Angel were having marital strife after being married less than one year.
"It was just all crazy, I was hearing so many different things. I heard he gave me a ring, he liked me because of my figure ... " Barbee said. And as it relates to another rumour that Beenie had paid for her hotel accommodation in Montego Bay, Barbee said, "My manager took care of that."
Barbee says she cannot see why persons would even think that there was anything going on between herself and Beenie because, "My mother, who is a part of my management team was there, my road manager, Cuba, who is really good friends with Beenie, my sister and some of my girlfriends who flew down from New York."
In an attempt to further emphasise her innocence, she stated that her relationship with Beenie Man was purely musical. "I totally respect Beenie Man as an artiste, I don't know anything about his personal life and don't want to be dragged into it. It's all about the music."
