LL Cool J will return to Jamaica to perform at Reggae Sumfest 2007 on July 20. And it is now confirmed, after Reggae Sumfest reps, allhiphop.com, stated that due to family reasons LL Cool J would not perform. In fact they also said all summer concerts for LL Cool J would be cancelled. Like Buju said, things change.
"We have just been advised by LL Cool J’s management that due to a family problem, LL Cool J has been forced to cancel all his summer dates and hence he will not be performing at Sumfest," organisers of the annual Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest said in a statement.His appearance is confirmed for July 20 , on Friday night of Sumfest 2007. This year Sumfest kicks off on July 15and ends July 21. The Beach party starts on Sunday, the 15 with Fab 5, DJ Liquid, Craig Ross and Pieces. This year’s dancehall night is dubbed "Xplosion" and features Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Cham, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Lady Saw, Vegas, Ninja Man, Chuck Fenda, Munga Honourable, Erup, Macka Diamond, Voicemail and countless others.
The first International night or "Evolution" features Shaggy, Buju Banton, Morgan Heritage, Richie Spice, Etana, Da’Ville, Cherine Anderson, Christopher Martin and backed by Hard Drive.
Saturday, the 21st is called "Zenith" and features Mary J. Blige Beres Hammond, Tanya Stephens, Alison Hinds, Tarrus Riley, Tessanne Chin and backed by Roots Underground.
From Thursday to Saturday night, the event will be held at the regular venue at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
