The public should forgive Deena, daughter of pastor Dave Alleyne involved in the Akon controversy and instead call on the owner of Club Zen, Johnny Soong to take responsibility for what happened at his business place, Prime Minister Patrick Manning said yesterday.
By Richard CharanManning said the performance of hip-hop superstar Akon should never be allowed to happen in this country, and "again, some foreign artiste comes and is allowed to do as they please".
He also said the police should investigate the matter. Club owner Johnny Soong has said his establishment enforces an age limit of 18 and over for entry, but 15-year-old Deena Alleyne somehow slipped through a crack.
Manning's opinion about the controversial images of the simulated sex scene between Akon and Alleyne at Club Zen, Port of Spain, two weeks ago is different to that of Minister in the Ministry of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, who said on Saturday that the girl was wild and stupid for performing the act.
Manning said: "I have taken very careful notice of this matter and the owner of Zen owes it to the public to take responsibility. I will be interfacing with Zen because that kind of thing should never be allowed to happen in this country.
"The owner (of Club Zen) should not be allowed to have such a kind of scene, (and) the public should forgive Deena."
