Reggae: Anthony B freed of ganja charge

Popular entertainer, Anthony B, whose real name is Keith Anthony Blair, was freed of a possession of ganja charge when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court yesterday.

Blair's road manager, Michael Johnson, was also freed of the ganja charge.

Resident Magistrate Desiree Alleyne freed them after she upheld a no case submission made by defence lawyer Bert Samuels who represented them. Mr. Samuels submitted that the men were only visitors to the premises where the ganja was found.

The police had testified that they went to a house at Gordon Town, St. Andrew, on June 22, 2006 and found 18 pounds of ganja at the premises.

Myer Mason who was also at the premises was charged with possession of ganja.The Resident Magistrate ruled that there was a case for Mason to answer and he will return to court on May 15.
