An aircraft with former President of Haiti Jean Bertrand Aristide on board yesterday touched down at V.C. Bird International Airport en route to an unknown destination...

Aristide has for several days been called upon by members of the international community to relinquish control of his strife-torn country in the best interests of Haiti and its people, following weeks of escalating anarchy in the poverty-stricken territory.

Permission was sought for the aircraft with its Haitian party to refuel at V.C. Bird International and then to proceed to its destination.
