The Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (UDeCOTT) has released its 2007 calendar with 12 of its projects, "structures that form part of Vision 2020".
Below is the list of projects with additional information provided by UDeCOTT public affairs manager Danielle Jones:Port of Spain International Waterfront Centre, Wrightson Road, Port Of Spain
A modern coastal facility featuring the largest convention centre in the English Speaking Caribbean, a 428 room Hyatt hotel, parking and office accommodation, the International Waterfront Centre "will be the modern signature landmark of POS".
In late 2007 the parking garage will be substantially completed and the hotel will be open for business by January 2008. The whole project will be substantially completed by the final quarter of 2008.
Government Campus Plaza (GCP), Richmond Street, Port of Spain
It is designed to house the services of the Board of Inland Revenue, Ministry of Legal Affairs, Customs and Excise and the Ministry of Education in one area, "the GCP is among the projects that will change the skyline of POS". It consists of two 23-storey towers and other buildings, the GCP will marry the services of these ministries with accessible parking for over 1,600 cars, new retail space, an auditorium and office space totalling 1.154 million square feet.
Construction work has begun and it is scheduled for substantial completion by 2008 with different components completed at different times. The Richmond Street Parking Garage is scheduled for substantial completion by early 2007.
Arima Borough Corporation
A single 42,000 square foot complex designed to take into account the expanded responsibilities for local government bodies and consisting mainly of office space, centralising services in Arima. Construction scheduled to start early 2007.
Chaguanas Regional Corporation Complex, Chaguanas
A single 35,000 square foot complex designed taking into account the expanded responsibilities for local government bodies and consisting mainly of office space, centralising services in Chaguanas.
It is set to begin construction in 2007 and scheduled substantial completion by 2008.
Diego Martin Regional Administrative Complex, Diego Martin
A single 40,000 square foot complex designed to take into account the expanded responsibilities for local government bodies at the regional corporation level in Diego Martin. It is in the pre-construction stage.
Chancery Lane Complex, Chancery Lane, San Fernando
Over 900,000 square feet of prime office, retail educational (library) and parking facilities at the gateway to San Fernando.
Construction has begun and substantial completion is scheduled for 2007.
Ministry of Education Tower, St Vincent Street, Port Of Spain
A 17-storey tower housing over 274,000 square feet of office space.
It is currently under construction and is scheduled for substantial completion by mid 2008.
Scarborough Esplanade, Scarborough Waterfront, Tobago
A waterfront shopping and cultural tourist centre in Tobago, consisting of several booths with built-in conveniences and storage facilities. The project was completed and handed over in October 2005.
National Academy for Performing Arts, Prince's Building, Port Of Spain
A teaching academy for the performing arts (voice, music, drama, dance) in the heart of Port of Spain, with large capacity, acoustically-sound performance theatre, hotel accommodation, practice halls and teaching spaces. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2007.

National Carnival and Entertainment Centre, Queen's Park Savannah
A 14,000 to 18,000 seat cultural facility and performance area following the "footprint" of the Grand Stand. Jones noted that it will use up less space than the footprint, which is the area indented or immediately affected. Construction scheduled to begin in early 2007.
Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, San Fernando
A cricket training academy and stadium with a seating capacity totaling over 10,000, facilities for teams/trainers, a full media centre with broadcast facilities, club seating/lounge and executive boxes. Construction has begun and substantial completion is scheduled for 2007.
