The song, "Band Of The Year", by Patrice Roberts and Machel Montano, has won the national Road March title, with "Threads Of Joy" by Brian MacFarlane declared winner in the Large Band category.

Peter Minshall, who returned to the local Carnival scene after a two-year absence, did not place with his presentation The Sacred Heart.
And the song, "Band of the Year", by Patrice Roberts and Machel Montano, was what fuelled the revelry most during downtown mas the Downtown Carnival Committee (DCC).
Despite the controversy surrounding its qualification for the national Road March title, the DCC has given it the title and will submit its results to the National Carnival Commission.
The results were announced yesterday by Port of Spain Mayor Murchison Brown at his City Hall office.
He could not say then the number of times the judges heard the soca song play but said that he heard quite often.
Shurwayne Winchester, who won this year's Groovy Soca Monarch with "Don't Stop" slowed Montano in his tracks, though, and grabbed the DCC Road March second position with his International Soca Monarch hit "Ah Cyah Wait".
Although many expected a double by Montano, Winchester's upset pushed back Montano's "Scandalous" to third place.
