Jamaican dancehall megastar Sean Paul is using his new album The Trinity to speak out against gun violence in Jamaica.
The 33-year-old reggae/hip-hop singer wrote one of the tracks, Never Gonna Be The Same, for his friend Daddigon, who was killed earlier this year in Kingston. The Grammy winner says it was an emotional time recording the song, which also pays tribute to family members and icons who passed away recently.
Sean Paul, who was born Sean Paul Henriques, still lives in Jamaica when he's not touring.
His family is also there, and he says the violence in the region affects him a lot.
Sean Paul is now looking foward to the release of a collaboration he did with guitar legend Santana.
He says Joss Stone is also on the track, which will be released on Santana's next CD.
