PANAMA CITY, Panama -- Stern John scored in the 62nd minute to lead Trinidad and Tobago to a 1-0 victory over Panama in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier Saturday night.

With the win, Trinidad moved into fourth place in the standings, two points ahead of Guatemala.

Mexico and the United States already have qualified for the 2006 World Cup, and Costa Rica claimed the third berth Saturday by beating the Americans at home.

The fourth-place team in the region will face either Bahrain or Uzbekistan in a two-game playoff.

Trinidad and Tobago will face Mexico on Wednesday.
