Mexico beat Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 in Monterrey to stay top of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying group.
Mexico top the standings with 13 points - ahead of the USA, Costa Rica and Guatemala.Trinindad & Tobago defended well in the first half and there were few chances although Mexico's Alberto Medina shot wide twice when in good positions.
And, in the 44th minute, Zinha dribbled past the goalkeeper but his shot was cleared off the line by defender Charles Attiba.
The visitors almost opened the scoring on the hour mark but Sydney FC striker Dwight Yorke's header flashed wide.
And, six minutes later, Jared Borgetti put Mexico ahead when Ramon Morales' shot rebounded to him and he found the back of the net.
Luis Perez sealed the victory two minutes from time with a left-foot shot from the edge of the box.
United States boosted their chances of a place in the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany with a 3-0 victory in Panama.
The USA dominated the first half and sealed the victory with goals from Carlos Bocanegra, Landon Donovan and Brian McBride.
Bocanegra put the visitors ahead in the sixth minute when he netted from Donovan's corner.
Donovan doubled the advantage in the 20th minute when he nodded in Steve Ralston's cross and McBride added a third five minutes before the break with a left-foot shot after a defensive mix-up.
The victory gave the United States 12 points in the CONCACAF qualifying group - one behind leaders Mexico - while Panama are rooted to the bottom with only two points.
And Paulo Wanchope's injury-time strike gave Costa Rica a 3-2 home victory over Guatemala.
But other results in the group mean that Costa Rica stay in third place and are struggling to qualify for the finals in Germany next year.
Costa Rica controlled the first half with Wanchope and Ronald Gomez putting the visitors' defence under constant pressure.
And the home side opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Carlos Hernandez curled in a superb free-kick.
Guatemala attacked after the break and Carlos Ruiz should have equalised but shot wide from close in.
Gomez doubled the advantage in the 67th minute with another free-kick that deflected off a Guatemala defender.
Guatemala hit back in the 75th minute when Edwin Villatoro beat goalkeeper Alvaro Mesen and they were level two minutes later when Mario Rodriguez netted after a great cross from Villatoro.
The fightback stunned Costa Rica but they rescued a victory when Wanchope beat the keeper from inside the box deep into injury time.
