The hunt for Trinidadian Andre Neverson, who is on the US Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitives list may be taking US Marshal investigators back to his homeland of Trinidad where he was reportedly spotted two weeks ago.

"We have had several calls, the most recent within the last two weeks, that people have seen Neverson in Never Dirty, Morvant. But from what we understand, many people are afraid to come forward; we know there are people that are hiding him," said lead investigator in the case Manny Puri, the lead deputy of the Regional Task Force of the US Marshal Office in New York.

Puri, who spoke exclusively with the Express yesterday on the latest developments of the three-year case, revealed: "We definitely have plans of going down there in the very near future (time called)."

Neverson is wanted for a 2002 double homicide, parole violation and illegal entry into the United States.

He allegedly shot his sister, Patricia Neverson, 39, a single mom, in her New York Carroll Street home. The deadly attack occurred on the night of July 8, 2002, as the two argued over money, cops said.

The next day, Neverson, now 41, went to Audrey Cohen College in Queens, where he picked up his girlfriend, Donna Davis, 34. Her body was found two days later with gunshot wounds to the head.

The lead investigator explained that Neverson, who has children with four women in New York, is using false identification at the moment, making it difficult to track him.

Puri said Neverson was deported from the US in July 2000, only to return two months later under a false Jamaican passport-gotten by the sister he allegedly murdered.

Information also reaching Puri is that Neverson may have gone through Trinidad in transit to Brazil.

"We have to keep all options open since he had mentioned going to Brazil in the past and he has several associates."

Neverson, according to Senior Inspector Louis Cabello of the US Marshal Investigative Services Division in Washington, also has family in Europe.

But their strongest information so far points to Trinidad, and they will be making arrangements with the relevant authorities here soon.

Interpol has already been placed on alert around the world to look out for Neverson, according to Cabello.

In an attempt to make people aware of how dangerous Neverson is, Puri said he was in the process of getting the US Marshal reward leading to any information and his arrest raised from US$25,000 to US$50,000.

At the moment, Neverson is also on the New York State Department (NYPD) top 25 most wanted list with a reward of US$12,000 being offered for any information on his whereabouts.

His face is also plastered on the top ten list of the New York State Police and is on the top 12 wanted list of the New York Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE), while he is on the New York State top 100 wanted list.

Neverson's infamous reputation has earned him, according to Puri, five appearances on the television show America's Most Wanted, with the most recent appearance and update on the case being on March 5, 2005.

Anyone wishing to give information anonymously with regard to Neverson can do so by calling 1-800-336-0102.
