Associated Press reports

Glazer has steadily increased his stake in Manchester United since last October. Earlier this month, he raised his stake to 16.31 percent a day after Irish racehorse owners J.P. McManus and John Magnier increased their shares in England's most famous soccer club to 28.89 percent.

If they buy 30 percent or more of the team, they will be required to make a formal takeover bid.
