Sizzla may not be able to perform in Barbados next week. This according to Tmothy Slinger of the Nation Newspaper Barabados.

Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin said the force would object to his participation in a concert scheduled for next Sunday at the National Stadium, following his arrest for questioning in connection with a cache of illegal firearms and related items found on a property connected to him in Jamaica on Thursday.

Up to late yesterday, Sizzla, real name Miguel Collins, was being held by Jamaica police after they discovered six AK47 rifles, three sniper rifles, one M16 assault rifle, two shotguns and one Tech Nine submachine gun.

Police also found 23 AK47 rounds of ammunition, 31 nine-millimetre rounds, four M16 rounds, two bulletproof vests, 11 assorted magazines and a silencer.

But Dottin told the SATURDAY SUN yesterday that whether or not Sizzla was charged, the force would not welcome him as a performing artiste.

?I will recommend to the Ministry of Home Affairs not to give him a work permit based on those grounds . . . national security and the fact that perhaps his presence here would be inimical to good order,? Dottin said.

He also said in addition to the force taking a solid position on such matters, discussions would also be held with authorities at the National Stadium regarding the hosting of future shows.

?Certainly, I am going to be speaking to the authorities at the National Stadium again and I am going to reinforce to my officers that we are going to have to watch these applications for police services at these concerts really very closely and we are not bound to participate,? he added.

Management of the locally promoted Sizzla concert said they were at the crossroads as to their next move.

?This show involved a lot of money and I don?t know what to do now,? one of the organisers said.

The discovery and arrests of Sizzla and 31 other men and a woman were the result of a Jamaica police operation aimed at curbing the upsurge of criminal activity that has resulted in more than 300 murders for the year.
