Beenie Man has cried on television and pleaded his innocence in many interviews but still many persons do not believe that he was not involved in Bogle's death. So the deejay has resorted to one other thing ? he is now singing about it.

Beenie Man - framed?By Teino Evans

His most recent song, Frame I an' I has been blasting across our airwaves since last week and has caused quite a lot of chatter. The song was recorded at Beenie Man's home studio, 'Kiddies Room' last week Thursday, and will be released on the Don Corleone label by Monday.

In explaining his reason for recording the song, which took Beenie and co-writer Don Maffia only ten minutes to word, he told THE STAR that there are many influential persons who want to see his demise so they used Bogle's death as an opportunity to frame him.

"This song is just to clear the air. Bad mind and envious people a call up mi name seh a me kill mi fren an people trying to frame us and keep us down, while turning a blind eye as to what is happening, and this is what the song is all about. It is to clear me and my friend name," Beenie said.

Public chatter

Since Bogle's death, there has been constant public chatter that Beenie is aware of the circumstances surrounding Bogle's death. Rumours have also circulated that there are reprisal attacks being planned for the deejay.

The latter rumour is one which the deejay is taking seriously. He says he has received several death threats and has increased the security around him.

"If yuh all have entertainer a plan fi kill yuh, yuh haffi do dat, and if di heat push on, mi a guh reveal di name. I have been to countries after that and other parishes and I still get love, but mi can't guh a Jungle, an dis a wah bad-minded people did want from long time," he explained.

The truth

As for the song itself, Beenie hopes that it will shed some light on the truth. "The truth will set us free and the song is the truth. I am already free, and none of my friends are suspects," he added.

Patrick Roberts, Beenie Man's manager, says the song has been doing quite well in terms of the response he has been getting.

"The feedback has been great, we have been getting the kind of feedback that a hit tune would. Everywhere you go, people a call fi it," Roberts said.
