Deejay Chuck Fender reportedly had his travel documents temporarily seized as he was detained and questioned by officials for a few hours on his arrival in Toronto, Canada on Saturday.

Reports from Fender's camp are that law enforcement officials held on to the deejay as he landed in the country, and questioned him about crimes which had been committed in the United States.

Fender, whose given name is Leshorn Whitehead, apparently bears the same name as a fugitive in the United States whom the officials were looking for in connection with these crimes.

Checks made by THE STAR to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority could not shed any light on Chuck Fender's situation.

After calling the general security posts for information, our calls were directed to voice mail systems. Checks with the local branch of the airline with which he flew, were also unsuccessful.

Swooped down

Fender and other members of his Fifth Element record label had been travelling to Canada to perform at a club in Toronto. He told THE STAR that as soon as he disembarked from his flight to check in, officials swooped down on him, took him away from his management team, locked him into a room and started questioning him.

"It looks like they were looking for someone with my name," Fender told THE STAR. "Because as soon as mi reach, dem take all my documents and take me into a room. They took my finger prints, me eyeball scan, me weight, my height and faxed this information to the FBI in the States. When the results come back, they say it was not me they wanted but someone else with the same name."
