Among the items listed on the site are hand made dresses worn by the Destiny Child's members while shooting the MTV's Destiny's isle campaign spot a poster and a signed poster by Britney Spears. The network will match the auction proceeds up to $50,000. The auction can be viewed at (auction.mtv.com) from December 13 ? December 20.

During this past hurricane season, millions of houses were devastated and thousands of persons were left homeless.

Yolan Zanders, marketing manager of VP Records says the effort was initiated by MTV who invited the VP artistes to participate.

"The whole MTV network is putting this thing on. They will be having some auctions on ebay as well as a benefit concert. They contacted us (VP Records), because they wanted some of our artistes to come and perform, and this will be for free," she said.

Promotional give-aways

Zanders says the VP artistes will be signing LP's, posters and other promotional material to give away at the events. On Thursday, December 16 the auction will be promoted at a press conference in New York City held by the Grenada Tourism Board. Amanda Diva, MTV2 VJ, who is from Grenada, will be hosting a live broadcast at the press conference to promote the auction.

VP Records will also be there handing out copies of D'Soca Zone 5th Spin, the compilation series that launched the international careers of Kevin Lyttle and Rupee.

The latest installment of D'Soca Zone, features the hits Nookie Tonight by Jamesy P, Shut Up by Meshach, and Grenada's Super P with Ivan (we will rise again) a passionate song about the devastation that took place when Hurricane Ivan struck his native land.
