An over-exuberant fan joined worried relatives, friends and members of the soca fraternity outside the intensive care unit of Port-of-Spain General Hospital yesterday, awaiting an update on the prognosis of soca singer Onika Bostic.
?I am her biggest fan, that?s why I?m here,? he said.
?Boy, I only crying all the time. I can?t even function properly.?
Dressed in a black pants, white long sleeve shirt and white tennis shoes, he kept pacing back and forth in the waiting room.
?I must see her. I have to,? he said, with tears coming to his eyes.
Meanwhile, family members refused to divulge any information Bostic?s condition.
?We don?t want to talk,? said a male family member.
When asked about reported plans to take the singer abroad for treatment, a female family member said, ?That is family business.?
However, the Guardian understands that doctors have warned against moving Bostic at this point.
A news release from the NWRHA said yesterday that her condition had not changed and she remained listed in critical condition.
Bostic sustained serious cranial and spinal injuries in an early morning car crash on Saturday.
The accident, in which five cars were involved, occurred at around 1 am at the corner of Erica Street and Eastern Main Road, Laventille.
