Chief Executive Officer of Stone Love Movement Winston "Wee Pow" Powell has moved to curb the actions of unscrupulous persons not attached to his award-winning sound system making bookings overseas.
According to Wee Pow, among these persons are some renegade ex-selectors who once worked with his sound.
"I am imploring would-be dance and stage show promoters who are booking the sound from overseas to use authentic agents who have direct responsibility for specific areas abroad," he said.
These he listed as; Brightly Music, RBM, Great Music, Omar Entertainment and Passion. On the local front, Headline Entertainment and his own office handle bookings. Headline Entertainment headed by Jerome Hamilton also takes care of bookings for the Caribbean.
"This situation has been going on for sometime," Wee Pow added, "but it recently came forcefully to light when a promoter in the Bahamas with whom we had a series of dates called to ask how we could be in the same area so close to the dates we had with him.
"Following some investigations we found out that the promoter had booked the sound through what he thought was a legitimate source."
To add to his woes, Wee Pow says that various ex-selectors of the sound system have taken to offering the set for dates without permission.
"If you have parted company with Stone Love, why not move on instead of piggy backing on the sound? asked the concerned owner/operator.
The lanky, easy-going Wee Pow however warned that serious actions will be taken against persons found guilty of these acts, whether they are ex-workers or not.
