Spragga Benz and Kevin Lyttle snatched success again for their hit tune Turn Me On, when they grabbed the Vibe magazine 'Boomshot' Award on Monday night in the United States.
The event was taped in Santa Monica, California, and despite a fight which broke out after a man reportedly attacked music giant Dr Dre, the show's taping continued and was aired on Tuesday night on the UPN Cable station. The 'Boomshot', award is dedicated to the reggae dancehall category and gets its name from the column in the monthly Vibe magazine which features reggae/dancehall acts.
Beenie Man and Elephant Man also walked tall at the event, when they performed before an estimated 1,000 in attendance, plus the several thousands more who watched the televised event on Tuesday night.
Spragga Benz and Little walked away with the 'Boomshot' award beating out fellow nominees Elephant Man with his track Jook Gal, Beenie Man with Dude, Vybz Kartel with Tekk, and TOK with Gal Yu A Lead.
Earlier in the show, Spragga, Little, Elephant Man and Beenie Man all performed immediately after each other in a short yet lively set.
The performances kicked off with Kevin Little and Spragga, who did Turn Me On, then moved into Beenie Man who did King Of The Dancehall, followed by Elephant Man with rapper Twista for Jook Gal.
All three sets were lively and quick, but Elephant Man was the most flamboyant. He wore a smashing cowboy outfit, complete with sombrero, holsters, and twin pearl handle imitation guns inside them. In making his appearance, Elephant Man burst out of some imitation speakers which were placed on the stage and jumped straight into his traditional dance moves.
This latest award is one on a growing list for Spragga Benz. Just last month, he grabbed the Source Award for his acting role in the film Shottas, while Elephant Man won the Best Reggae/Dancehall artist category.
They are all scheduled to perform at this Sunday's Caribbean Reggae Fest in Miami.
