Police said Nolan Cooper, also known as Shaba, was heading east on Audrey Jeffers Highway, Mucurapo, around 7 am, when he lost control of his B14 Sentra and ran off the road, ending up in a nearby river.

Cooper, of Nile Street, Cocorite, was pronounced dead on the spot, by a district medical officer, after he was pulled from the mangled wreck by firemen.

An unidentified woman was seen sobbing uncontrollably over Cooper?s body, as it lay on the side of the highway while police awaited the DMO.

Club Coconuts owner, Johnny Soong, visited the scene along with disc jockey Derek Perreira (Dawg-E-Slaughter) and both men identified Cooper to police.

However, Soong could not be reached for a comment yesterday afternoon while Perreira declined to speak of Cooper?s death, saying: ?I don?t talk about dead people.?
