Missing Bahamian student, Joseph Burrows, 22, was found murdered yesterday off the Winston Jones Highway in Manchester. He had been a biology student at Northern Caribbean University, and hoped to qualify later as a doctor.

His bullet-riddled body was found in bushes at 3:30 pm by a passer-by, who alerted the police.

Last night, Joseph's father, Bahamian Stephen Burrows, his wife, Alta Marae Allie, daughter and other family members received the news they had dreaded since Saturday night.

"This is a horrible tragedy for human kind and my family. It should not have happened. It is a horrible, senseless, inhumane act that makes no sense at all. I hope it never happens to any boy again," said Burrows.

According to a report received from the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) and the NCU, Burrows went missing from Saturday, November 6, when he left home to purchase a meal for his daughter at a nearby KFC outlet.

The police have offered no theory for the killing.
