MARABELLA: Coventry City striker Stern John put last week's club versus country row behind him to score twice in Trinidad & Tobago's 5-1 home win over St Kitts and Nevis in their World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

An Alexis Riley own goal set the ?Soca Warriors? on their way in the eighth minute before John netted in the 24th and 83rd minutes of the CONCACAF zone second stage Group C game.

Cornell Glenn and Jerren Nixon completed the scoring for the home team. Keith Gumbs replied for St Kitts.

Trinidad and Mexico share the lead with nine points, although Trinidad have played four games to Mexico's three. The two teams meet in Puebla tomorrow and appear certain to reach the final stage of the qualifiers next year.

John was at the centre of last week's row when he told the Trinidad and Tobago Federation's website that Coventry manager Peter Reid had put him under pressure to abandon his international career.
